Denmark became a huge player on the AI map by introducing its first AI-driven supercomputer, named after the Norse goddess Gefion. This high-power machine is set to put Denmark on the AI world map.
NVIDIA Powers Denmark’s AI Vision
NVIDIA, one of the most important players on a global scale in AI hardware and software solutions, is the main leader in this development, and it is named Gefion. This partnership between NVIDIA and Denmark and the impact on innovation and Danish society is emphasised by NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang, and utilising new NVIDIA’s DGX SuperPOD architecture, it is possible to handle more complex data and MLM with the ability to be more efficient and scalable.
This project, Gefion, is a reflection of the Danish government and institution with a key partner in the Novo Nordisk Foundation, which has invested in bringing this infrastructure to life. By being able to use the NVIDIA GPUs and other AI hardware, it is able to support different research industries, for example, healthcare and biotech.
Enabling Groundbreaking AI Research and Innovation
Gefion’s primary purpose is to provide Denmark with technological autonomy to conduct high-level research. Gefion is able to help life-scientist experts accelerate the process of developing new medicines, optimise the existing remedies, and make them more efficient by personalising them. This also helps the scientists and researchers with different diseases and diagnoses and be able to offer better treatment.
Except for healthcare, the new supercomputer is able to analyse huge amounts of datasets related to climate change, water, carbon emissions, and environmental patterns, and by doing this, it can help Denmark achieve their sustainability goals.
